Homeopathy is a natural system of medicine that’s been used all over the world for more than 200 years. It was developed by a German doctor called Samuel Hahnemann and is based on a simple but powerful idea: like cures like. In other words, a substance that can cause certain symptoms in a healthy person can, in tiny doses, help stimulate healing in someone who is experiencing similar symptoms.
Rather than focusing only on a diagnosis or a list of symptoms, homeopathy looks at you as a whole person. Your physical health, your emotions, your thoughts, your experiences, etc. It’s all connected. The aim isn’t to suppress symptoms, but to gently encourage your body’s own natural ability to heal, so that real and lasting change can happen.
Homeopathic treatment is completely individual. Two people with the same condition may receive totally different remedies, because what matters is your unique pattern of symptoms, your history, your energy, and how your body responds to stress and illness. The remedy is chosen to match the whole picture of you – not just one part.
I see homeopathic medicine as a gentle catalyst. Our bodies have an incredible capacity to heal, but sometimes we get a little stuck. The right remedy can give that small nudge that helps your system re-balance itself again, in a way that feels supportive rather than forceful.
What is treatment like?
Your first appointment is usually between 90 minutes and two hours. It’s a relaxed, unhurried conversation where I get to know you properly: your physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle, history and what’s important to you. This fuller picture helps me choose the remedy that best supports you.
Follow-up appointments last around 30 to 45 minutes and are usually spaced about 4–6 weeks apart at the beginning. From there, we gently review how things are changing and adjust as needed.
